Forum/BBS Differences

In recreating this, I looked at setting up a "traditional" BBS and ended up rejecting the idea - even though BBS software is still being developed, the truth is the basic design hasn't really changed in the last 20-odd years and there are limitations that can't be escaped (hosting, access, etc).

Forum software still fills the bill though - although some BBS features are not available (ie good old DOS door games) most functionality is still available.

Likewise, I decided not to set up "file areas" - messages on the forum can have attachments and this keeps discussion of any attachments relevant rather than isolated as a seperate download.

Other features that existed back in the day can (and probably will) be replicated - like "multi user chat" etc.
